Please join us for this Rhetoric Roundtable, hosted by Georgia Rhoades. It will be in the Lincove Room, on the fourth floor, in the new student union building. Below is her abstract and a link to the article that we'll be discussing.
Richard Enos (http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/02773940209391221#preview) has called for rhetoricians to consider rhetorical objects as worthy of study: I'll talk about how his suggestions have helped me in recontextualizing sheela-na-gigs and mermaids from medieval church and public buildings in England, Ireland, and Scotland. I'll invite the audience to consider other rhetorical objects that lend themselves to recontextualizing.
